The vidro describes the story of a Demonspawn prince named Heldire and his subordinate, Mikage Jorogumo, who conspire to continue the Shadow God’s work in secret after the Second Great War. Mikage, with an affinity for arachnids, convinces Heldire to infiltrate the Human-dominated Dawnlands of Yakai. Disguised as Humans, they subvert the clans and Mikage undermines Heldire’s standing. Eventually, Mikage establishes the Mikage Autocracy, a kingdom where Demonspawn rule and mortals inflict brutalities.
Kumoshiro becomes Mikage’s powerbase, and she rules with cruelty, using her influence to control even the lowest layers of Yakai society. She creates dark magic around spiders, enabling them to take human form and spread her influence. However, the brutality of the Autocracy leads to a rebellion supported by various factions. Lady Mikage tries to suppress it but ultimately fails. As strongholds fall and the rebellion grows, Mikage withdraws from direct leadership, becoming a legend. When Kumoshiro is burned, the rebellion claims Mikage perished, but she survives, haunting Yakai in disguise, weaving her web anew in the shadows.
